Hampton Court Palace

My debut novel, The Witching of the King, is set at Hampton Court Palace, in the winter of 1604. Widely believed to be haunted, the building of the palace began in 1515 by Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. In 1529, as Wolsey fell from grace in the eyes of King Henry VIII, the cardinal gave the palace to the king to try to sway his opinion. By the the time of the novel, it is the home of King James.
